Well, we can start making a short list of places that we have previously tried and where the seafood-based main courses were delicious....

    1. Segundo Muelle. This place has four branches and the taste is particularly good. If you know some Spanish just take a look at their website.

    OVERVIEW

Costa Verde, is located int he Costanera Av. and just few meters away fromt he shore along the "green coast", south of Miraflores district, it could be a expensive meal, but it's also good enough to draw a decent number of Limeños celebrating special occasions.

It draws a bigger share of foreigners, as evidenced by the touristy little national flags the hostess places on everyone's table. (I suggest telling her you're from Gambia or Jordan, just to see how well stocked they are in miniature flags). The restaurant is attractive enough, but it's the big-time seafood buffet that makes everyone's eyes bulge. There's a daily lunch buffet and also a huge gourmet dinner buffet, check them out!

The regular menu seems not to have changed for several years of business, but you can't really argue with sea bass with wild mushrooms and morel sauce with scallop mousse, or basil and ricotta gnocchi with river shrimp in saffron sauce. Well, if you are not in the mood for fish try the pork loin in beer-and-honey sauce. You may also try to enjoy the facilities devoted to facilitate the customers to sit comfortably and hear the sound of waves crashing against the shore.

    Hello. RT here.

Restaurant La Mar (770 Av. La Mar, Miraflores) is one of the absolutely best places I have enjoyed lunch at. It is owned by the same people that own Astrid Y Gaston, also in Miraflores.

Both restaurants are pricey, Peru-wise, but on an American budget, they're a bargain.

La Mar gets real busy (they're 0nly open for lunch) and expect to wait if you don't want to eat at the bar. I am not sure about reservations, but their number is 421-3365.

Go there. Eat. You can thank me later.

    Yep!
Certainly the seafood there is damn nice.
Thumbs up to LA MAR Restaurant....but do not forget to get your reservations since this place is pretty crowded on the weekends.

    Have Fun!

The best and cheapest ceviche in Lima by far can be found here.

My favorite is El Aji Limon - just 2 blocks from Ave Canada.

Many small places line the street, and it's fairly foreigner friendly - but you better be able to speak passible spanish, or have someone w/ you who does to get there. Not as safe as Miraflores, but good and cheap !
