RT here. I watched the Hurricanes game at the sports book at the Fiesta Casino today. The TV guy was accommodating, and he put the game on the big screen. Big screen is an understatement... it is HUGE. Click on this picture below to see it larger. For comparison purposes, the sign (advertising the Eagles game) below the screen is 8 feet tall. So Jacory is like, what, 100 feet tall or something. The food was excellent and fairly-priced, too. Now, the 0nly thing the 'Canes need to do is learn to tackle. At least I had Miami plus 7, so I cashed out; that's something.

You can also go to Atlantic Casino Simulcast bar. It shows four games NFL games at the same time on Sundays, and u can bet on horses also. Its a nice atmosphere.

RT, Thanks for the tip. Was there any atmosphere over there @ the casino or any fans of any of the other colleges at all that you could have some banter with? Just curious to see what's it like over there in Peru. We just had to go for the field goal on our first drive, didn't we. Now we have the Tar Heels @ their place, which has always been our boogie team. Things aren't looking so sunny down here.

Nope, absolutely no sporting atmosphere. I was the 0nly one there for College football. If you want to enjoy football with some other fans, the Corner Bar is your best bet. I watched some NFL on Sunday at the sports book at Atlantic City. I sat with the six or seven 'wise guys' that are in Lima, and it wasn't half-bad. But I really didn't want to have to listen to any Gator fans telling me that we suck, so I just watched the game on the huge screen and enjoyed the food. For soccer, the Fiesta sports bar/sports book fills to capacity, and they go wild. Call me an optimist, but I'm feeling good about tomorrow's game.

RT here. Yes, the food there is pretty excellent. They have a three-course offering for 22 soles every day for lunch. Last week, I started with a sushi roll-looking causa, followed it with a piece of fish on top of vegetable lasagna (the photo does not do it justice) and wrapped the whole thing up with a fruit salad topped with strawberry sherbert. The menu changes often, but the quality doesn't seem to waver. Here's the current menu:

There are several locations in miraflores as mentioned above. "The corner bar" comes to mind when I think of watching american football (college and pro). this place is full of rowdy american fans sporting their team jerseys. they have a bunch of TVs on the first floor and second floor. as for food, i recommend their chicken sandwich. if there are other important sporting events like a big soccer match, etc. there will be a mix of locals and tourists watching the TVs. it is located on the corner of Av. Larco about two blocks from the Marriott hotel...most of the waitresses are hot young Peruvian ladies.

RT here. While I was on an unrelated-adventure last week in Centro, I stumbled upon the Estadio Futbal Club along side of Plaza San Martin. The place has three floors, lots of TVs, lots of beer, and looked good. I talked to the bouncer for a few minutes. He claims that they do, indeed, show American Football during the season, but I would call first and check. If they indeed do, it seems like it would be a nice place to watch a game, and it gets you out of Miraflores for a few hours. If you do call, I wouldn't be counting on anyone speaking English on the other end of the phone. Estadio Futbol Club Av. Nicolás de Piérola 938 (on the side of Plaza San Martin), Lima 428 8866 / 427 9609 http://www.estadio.com.pe/
