For me, no mongering trip is complete until I find a "Cheers-like" (reference to 90's US TV series) establishment that... - seves coffee and/or beer and casual food at reasonable prices - doesn't mind when a patron sits and reads for awhile - has wi-fi, and maybe one or two english speaking folks around - is visited by the occasional local free-lance chica, but is not primarily a hooker bar. - is as much a day place as a night place. Examples of the kinds of place I'm trying to describe. - Playa Vista in Boca Chica DR - Rocky's in Sosua DR - New York Bar in San Jose CR Any place in Miraflores or Barranco come to mind?

RT here. Good morning. Sam and Coach let hookers in their bar???? Now, THAT would have been a great episode! I could see Woody thinking that he was doing great chatting up the girl... ___________ Seriously, I don't know of such a place in Lima, but If you're just looking for somewhere to get an English fix, you can try the Corner Sports Bar in Miraflores, and I suspect that the Lions Head pub in Barranco (not on the street with all the bars, but around the corner, facing the park - Av Grau 268) might do the trick.

I just found this post, since I was looking for sth similiar. I ve never been to Lima before, I am arriving tomorrow, but I know Buenos Aires very well. There you have places like Cafe Esmeralda or Orleans, where you can sit hours for hours and drink sth while you have all those beautiful girls sitting around you. Nothing like that in Lima at all? I am not really into nightlife-scenes, I prefer to have some relaxing afternoons/mornings. Any recommendation would be great. Since I will be in an appartment in Surco, I was wondering if there is anything happening in Surco at all - I cant find that name being mentioned in most of the subforums. Anyway, cheers, nice place here, Lakini from Germany.

RT here. Larco Mar has wi-fi access, and all the eye candy you could ever want. Day and night. As to Surco, there are some massage joints and Baos Turcos here and there (check the Spanish Forums), and probably some nightlife for the local constituency, but not much in the way of official mongering venues.
