    Superfly here,

    There is a new restaurant of Gaston Acurio, it opened about 1 month ago and is located at block 2 of Coronel Inclan in Miraflores ( this street starts from Pardo ), the name is Panchita and it's dedicated to meat ( like a typical argentinean restaurant ), the menu and the food are absolutly outstanding as well as the wine selection, there is also a very nice bar for happy hours at the entrance ( check the black girl at the door )

    I highly recommend to call for reservation, it is full every night since the opening !!

    I had the pleasure of eating there twice last week and the food was excellent. I tried several of the different grillled meats and all were well prepared and delicious. Even the bread they start you off with is fantastic.

    I am sorry that I didn't run into him last week, but he is indeed correct -- Panchita is excellent. I will post a full report in its own thread soon, but here's the bread he mentioned and one of the dishes.

    RT here. I re-visited Panchita last night. It was crowded when we arrived at 9:00 pm and stayed that way until we left at almost 11. We split the scallops appetizer, I had a anticucho of Salmon and my date ordered the full-sized baby beef. It was big enough for three of her meals.. I might not have been able to finish it. It looked a little fatty to me,but she said it was good. My salmon was delicious.

    The three dishes, drinks and cover charge came to 155 sols. The steak was pretty expensive, but the rest of the food was reasonable. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge the photos.

    You really need a reservation to eat there, and it is understandable. The food is great, the service is attentive, and (if needed) they have menus in English.

    This place is too good to visit 0nly once. Here's Pastel de Choclo, Pappas Rellenas, Anticucho de Mejellas, Arroz con Pato, Anticuchos de Vegetales, and Queso Helado. Absolutely fabulous.

    I made my reservation with Atrapalo.pe
    A few hours before my reservation I received a courtesy confirmation call.
    The restaurant's atmosphere is pretty lively and by 7pm it was 80% full (on a Tuesday night).
    Below are the Aji de Gallina and Carapulcra with sopa seca, and the breads

    It looks great and, Panchita being Panchita, I'm sure it all was delicious. The Caraculcra with Sopa Seca, however, looks too made-for-tourists to me.

    The Carapulcra con Sopa Seca is a typical Sur Chico dish (Little South, meaning close south... Pucusana... Chilca... Cañete... Chincha...) and, in its original form, is overloaded with strong colored and strong flavored species, so much that its more familiar local name is "Mancha-Pecho" (Chest-Stainer) in reference to how easily you can get your shirt stained when eating it.

    Thank you for the pic and background on this dish. My serving wasn't too spicy but still delicious. Honestly, this is the first time I tried the sopa seca but would love to try it again in a restaurant that specializes in it.

    I was there on Monday evening and the place was packed. My date and I had to wait at the bar for about 10 minutes for a table. We ordered the appetizer combo, plus the aguadito. No picture of the aguadito soup. Everything was pretty good. But, they didn't served the breads this time.
