Digital Tutors Creating Caricatures in Mudbox 2012 DVD-iNKiSO | 1.41GB

In this course we will learn to use Mudbox to sculpt and paint exaggerated caricatures from start to finish. Caricature, as an art form has been around for many years. Typically they are 2d drawings that really capture the essence of a real person through exaggeration and emphasis on specific features. With Mudbox, we can easily take this process into the 3d realm and create fun 3d caricatures complete with textures.

We'll start by building up some base geometry in Maya and then begin shaping and sculpting our character bust. We'll use a variety of sculpting tools to create some exaggerated features for our character. We'll make use of the close integration between Mudbox and Maya to build accessories for our bust and assemble everything in Mudbox. We'll then talk about preparing the meshes for texturing and we'll paint maps for all of the different pieces. In the end, you'll have a finished caricature bust, but you'll also have the skills you need to start creating your own custom caricatures.

Jeff is a self-taught freelance digital artist and has been freelancing for the past six years. More recently he has spent some time teaching on-site mental ray classes, which he enjoys as it has allowed him to travel around the country and meet a lot of really great people.

Jeff is an active member of several online forums such as CGsocietey (CGtalk), the Vizdepot, and Autodesk's "the AREA" website where he often tries to assist users with their mental ray related questions. In addition, last year he teamed up with Russell Thomas, owner of 3dallusions.com, to help create mrmaterials.com which is a free material repository for the mental ray community.

I had the previous version that began each volume with a girl saying, "Hi my name is Aleka".
This is the new version (2010). Each session begins with a boy saying, "Hi my name is Graham."
This set includes 4 DVDs. Each more advanced than the previous one. (Go in order...)
This program is awesome. My son has learned so many words from them, he really enjoys them and is saying / reading so many more words than anyone else we know his age.

I do recommend getting the program, we have used the flash cards a lot and my son loves those as well. They really compliment the dvds. But these dvds are a great start, and once you see how much your child starts learning and doing from them, you might want to consider getting the flash cards, which is when you will see them really learning on how to read instead of just speaking.
