    RT here.

In a word, the answer: Anywhere.

It seems that every TV in Peru 0nly shows the World Cup Matches. TVs that are off magically come on when the games start. Those monitors in the hospital that show your blood pressure and heartbeat... even they're showing the games.

More specifically, the games are on Channel 9 if you're in an apartment or hotel. I have a couple of more public suggestions.

Feel free to add to the list if you know of any others.

I watched yesterday's USA-England match at El Bolivariano in Puebo Libre.

They have two 30-40" flat screens, and we sat at a table near one of them.

The food was up to its usual high standards, and three of us ordered a total of five dishes, two desserts and soft drinks/chicha, and the check came to 120 sols, including tip.

They say that they are showing every game, but I would check first before the early games.

I just watched today's middle match at the Fiesta Casino.

This place has a HUGE screen for the games. It had to be the biggest screen I have seen outside of a movie theater. And they claimed that it was in high definition. It was really like being there.

They had breakfast specials. I had the chicharron sandwich with juice and coffee for 20 soles. It was freshly made and not bad.

The service was horrible. My waitress was still recovering from her personality removal surgery, but there were just two people watching the game in the second floor restaurant (perfect viewing on the big screen), and she still couldn't get my coffee order right.

The manager walked by, asked me, "todo bien?" In his defense, when I told him no, he made it right himself. My waitress was more attentive after that, too. She still sucked as a waitress, but she was more attentive.

Did I mention how big and clear the picture was? It was awesome.

They are showing every game at the Fiesta. If I wasn't going home tomorrow, I would watch more games there. Unlike American Football, soccer is over in just two hours. I can put up with bad service for that long... they do have a GIANT hi-definition screen.

I took my date to karaoke at the Atlantic City casino the other night. As we were leaving, they handed me a flyer for their world cup promotion.

They are showing the late (1:30 in Lima) game every day in the karaoke room on the karaoke screens (bigger than in El Bolivariano, but babies compared to the Fiesta).

For 49 soles, you get a buffet tailored (they say) to the countries playing in the match, and -- according to the flyer, a welcome drink, a soda and 'infusiones'.

It opens at noon. The room is real comfortable for karaoke. I will be checking it out this afternoon for Germany and Australia, so if you want to come by and explain soccer to me, look for the confused gringo.

EDIT: I showed up 10 minutes before the match. The idiot security guard tried to tell me that I was crazy; there was no football that day. I ignored him and went inside. The manager told me that yes, there was football, but no, they were a bunch of fuck-ups and there was no buffet.

I left and went back to the Fiesta. Atlantic City may get their shit together later in the tournament, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

st saw a commercial that there is a "FanFest" at the Plaza de Armas in old Lima every day of the tournament.

If the pictures on the commercial can be believed, there are two giant screens with the games, and entertainment as well.

So... if you want to stand around outside in old Lima early in the morning, this is the option for you!!!

If I didn't mention how big the screen is, maybe this will give you an idea. Click on the thumbnail for a larger version.

I received this email today. The email says that they open at 12:30 every day. A little more upscale, and the owner, Christian Bravo, is an up and coming celebrity chef. Click to enlarge.

    RT here with another email.

There are a few Punta Azuls around town; This one mentions the restaurants on Benavides and on Av. Primavera.

Oh yeah, try the parihuela and the chicarron de pescado!
