We enjoyed an excellent late lunch at Edo Sushibar in San Isidro. The fish was fresh, the combinations on the rolls were inventive, Ivan the head chef spoke English, and the wasabi was very strong -- what more can you ask for?

Seriously, Edo (all locations) has earned a very good reputation among the sushi crowd in Lima. And from my visit, I have to agree with them.

We had close to a dozen different sushis and three or four half-size orders of rolls, and the whole thing 0nly came to 79 Soles (about $25). I tossed a 10 Sol note in the jar for the sushi guys, so the whole thing still came to less than $30 for two people.

I would not hesitate to visit Edo again.

RT here. I have been to Edo many times since this last post; I just never remember to take any pictures.

Here are some sushis and maki rolls from a couple of weeks ago.

The food and service is as good as ever.

    RT here.

The Edo location on Salaverry in San Isidro is no more; it has been moved right around the corner from the Golden Palace Casino, on Av. Carnaval y Moreyra. I will update to first post in this thread.

The food quality is unchanged; half rolls are 15 soles and full rolls (10 pieces) are 28. Here's three and some sushi from the other day. Click to enlarge...

The Edo Sushi Bar on Av. Canaval y Moreyra is, actually, a new location located at the other end of San Isidro right in the middle of the financial district. The old Salaverry location has moved just a few blocks away from its original location but just across the border so it is now in Magdalena. (click on the map to see it bigger).

The new Magdalena location is quite bigger than the old San Isidro (Salaverry Av.) location, but has not lost any of its character and the quality of the food and the service is just as good if not better (click on the pic etc. etc. etc)

I ate at the EDO Sushibar in Miraflores for the first time today (601 Berlin street). I ordered a masaki maki roll (5 piece for 16 soles) and tempura moriawase (33 soles). Service was quick since I arrived early and sat at the bar. My maki rolls were made with fresh ingredients and properly seasoned. The tempura was fresh and had the right textures and flavors. Two thumbs up in my book. I can't wait to go back with co-workers and friends to try more items from their menu...

I'm glad that the EDO at San Isidro isn't that far from where I work. I eat there once every two months and if I have people that visit me, I can take them there. Highly recommendable place where to eat.
