RT here. A couple of months ago, we wound up meeting one of our friends for a bite after she got off work in Miraflores. I asked her to pick the restaurant, and she said great, we 0nly have to walk a couple of blocks, and she hoped that I liked "Arab" food. She got one look at my belly, and figured (correctly) that it was a safe bet.

Anyway, we show up at Tierra Santa and sit right down. It's very centrally located in Miraflores, just a half block off of Av. Larco, and two blocks closer to Parque Central from Av. Benavides.

The menu is classic Middle-Eastern: Felaffel, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, kibeh, and many lamb-centric dishes. We wound up ordering a VERY large assorted appetizer. It was tasty, especially the hummus. The plate, along with non-alcoholic drinks for the three of us came to around 50 soles. I filed the place mentally for a return visit.

    **********

It was the last day of my last trip, and I had to leave for the airport at 1:30. I wandered out, got a manicure, and was at Tierra Santa's doorstep just as they opened at noon.

I ordered a falafel sandwich for lunch, and -- because the food on Copa isn't fit for a dog -- a Shawarma to go. When she took the order of the to-go sandwich, she asked if I wanted <something> or 'cordero'. I never figured out what the 'something' was, but I like lamb, so that's what I chose.

The falafel sandwich was fresh and delicious. They give you three sauces to add yourself. WARNING: The red one (hot) is VERY hot! My to-go sandwich was well-wrapped and made it until mealtime on the plane safely. It was probably a lot better when it was warm, but it kicked ass over the slop that the guy sitting next to me was eating.

The falafel was six soles, and the shawarma was eight. For under two and a half dollars, I felt like I was getting away with murder. The other sandwich was large and also a good value, but I really have to try it fresh to pass judgment.

They also promise delivery. Even with an upcharge for them to bring it to you, the thought of a delicious falafel sandwich in bed, right after exerting yourself in that very same bed, sounds like a great idea.

Supposedly, there is a bar on the second floor with hookahs (for smoking!) and belly-dancing shows on the weekends. I didn't know about that until I did some research for this post, but it could be a nice little 'getaway' in case you have a date that is tired of the same old, same old.

Here's the Hummus appetizer. Served with a couple of pieces of warmed pita bread, this dish will set you back a whopping 9 soles.

I love Mid Eastern food, I will totally hit this place up when I am there next week. Quick Question though, I cannot find it on Google Maps. How do you enter the address into google maps to find it? I would like to know the distance from my hotel.
