Cabaleros, I just bought a round trip ticket WAS - LIM for 0nly $505!. I haven't paid such low price in a long time. I saw the price and immediately bought my ticket. Has any of you flown with that airline before? I much prefer flying with AA or Copa but I couldn't pass an offer like that. I hope it works fine. Cheers, Juan

RT here. I flew Jet Blue for my five-day visit at the end of November. The tickets were on sale. I was very pleased, with one caveat... PROS * The flight left from Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami. I live 10 minutes from FLL. 'Nuff said. * The staff was pretty nice. Unlike the Discount Airline From Hell -- Spirit -- these people acted as if they valued my business. * One free bag. Not as good as two free bags, but one more than Spirit gives you. * We bought Extra Room seats. That gets you early boarding and a shorter security line in FLL * The food stuff that they sold on board seemed reasonably-priced. I didn't buy any, so I can't speak to the quality SO-SO * The Extra Room seats gave us a little more space between rows, I could have opened my laptop in this seat comfortably, but I didn't, so no advantage there. * The Extra Room seats are still three across. CONS * The flight times weren't the best. We were a little late arriving, so I didn't get settled in until after midnight, effectively losing that day. We went to a casino for an hour, but that was it. Coming home, my flight got me into FLL at 6:30 in the morning. I tried to go to work that day, but I was pretty useless. When I take Copa, I arrive on the 3:30 in the afternoon flight, and leave on the 4:00-something flight. That gives me a whole day on arrival, and up until Lunch on departure day. * For 10+ day visits, I need two bags. The bottom line is that I liked them enough to use them again for my March trip, then I will make a final decision. I have LAN tickets for May already, but I really like not having to drive to Miami, so we will see. PS - When is your flight?

Thank you, RT. I was concerned with the service for such low price. I added the Extra Room service for $11 something and they let me choose my seats. One free bag is plenty for me as I travel light. Is it true that they let "Extra Room" passengers board first? I hope so, since the overhead compartments get full quickly. I hate it when people travel with a lot of shit and take it on board. Also hate it when they start forming a line/crowd in front of the departure gate before their boarding group has been called. The flight hours are as you described. That is why I prefer AA: I fly during the night. This let me work all day before the flight and have the whole day after the flight. I don't like arriving late at night. I don't like going out alone that late, and I usually end up watching nothing on tv or staring at my room wall most of the night. As far as food goes, I usually eat at the airport before the flight anyway. Hope they have decent eateries at FFL. Depending on how cute the stewardess is, I may order their $6 sandwiches. Sent you a pm with my flight dates. Thanks, Juan

$11 is a bargain. I paid $45. Yes, you board in Group One, or whatever they call it. I think it was chips and packaged foods. Not even sandwiches. My 'stewardess' was named Roger or something.

There are a lot of food choices, depending on the terminal. But I'm not sure about the availability of Cubanos. If you've got a long layover, I will pick you up and take you to lunch. We've got some nice places not far from FLL.

Thank you for the offer, RT. But my layover will 0nly be 1hr 24min. Just enough time to grab a quick bite at the airport.

Although I have a lot of respect for lowcosters I prefer to never travel by them, not to long distances at least. Why not LATAM?
