one of my favorites for decades. I used to have an office above the Bowling alley at the corner of Schell and Diagonal (entravce on the Porta side) -- this was an easy stop for a quick dessert. My favorite has always been the Zambito with chocolate and coco icecream.

 

My favorite breakfast when I'm in Lima:

 

Some of my favorite desserts: Vanilla/Lucuma/Strawberry ice cream, flan, arroz con leche/mazamorra morada, calabaza, and budin.

 

During the months of Feb - May, several of my favorite fruits are in season. I made a mean papaya/lucuma smoothie. The last 4 fruits at the bottom are my favorite, favorite: Lucuma, Ciruelas, and Chirimoya.

 

A must whenever I'm in Lima. The good old Rocoto Relleno. Puerto Norte no longer has the seafood rocoto relleno.

 

I was able to make a parrillada (BBQ). The choice of meat cuts are limited in Lima; I couldn't find t-bone or flank steak (fajitas). But found some good beef (bistec) and chicken breast. I didn't have to prepare a marinade sauce, the grocery store sells it by the kilo. Yes, I ate it all. I put the leftovers in the freezer and it lasted me a few days.

That's a wild tamale sandwich - sweet bread, tamale, cream of aji, and onions. But it looks delicious.

At Arenales Avenue number 777 you guys can eat "anticuchos", "panzita", "mollejitas".

Prices:

for six soles you can eat one of each.

for eight soles you can eat "panzita, mollejita and two anticucho sticks".

For ten soles you get a "combinado" the difference is that it is one more "chicken anticucho" except that it is more like a ¿brocheta? No chicken heart. So: "three anticucho sticks and panzita, mollejita".

All dishes came with boiled potatoes. And the "Aji" is also really good.

Ah! They have corn (choclo) by the price of S/ 2.50 soles. And of course "Inca Kola, Coca Cola, Sprite" Im not sure if they sell beers.

I guess this get in the "Street Food, Cheap Food". I already eat a few times there. Is good, is cheap and I didnt have a stomach ache for nothing.

I also know that you guys dont walk trough Lima Centro that much, but who knows, perhaps one day you are by the zone and decide to try one of the items

Actually it is little place with tables and chairs.
I think you can call it ¿fonda? thats a proper name for the place.
