2014 PeruTops Kids' Christmas Fund & Evento

Hello all. RT here.

As is the custom here at PeruTops, we give back to the community whenever we can. Our signature event is the Christmas Chocolatada, Party and Gift Day, which has been officially scheduled for Sunday, December 21st. This will be our fifth year, and if you get the opportunity, please plan to join us that day. I've gone the last two years, and the good feelings last all the way through April. What happens is: The guys in the Spanish Forum do all the work, I harass people for money in the English Zone, Sly One runs an Orgy Fundraiser, the Spanish guys do even more work, and we wind up with over 500 kids smiling because they get a wrapped Christmas gift. Trust me, most of these kids are not waking up and seeing what Santa dropped off for them on Christmas morning.

There's a lot going on, and a lot still to be planned. You can read about it in the Spanish forum by clicking here, or I can summarize for you:

• We collect lots of money, both through events and direct donations.
• They pick an area, usually an hour or so out of Lima. I suspect we're going to Ventanilla this year, but don't quote me.
• These guys shop and wrap and plan and shop and work and work
• There's an official Fundraiser on Thursday night, December 18. Site to be announced.
• There's usually a raffle or two to win an hour with a KinesTops advertiser
• Sly One holds a Charity Orgy... get your rocks off and give back at the same time! That's scheduled for November 29. I will write a separate post about that later today. His parties are ALWAYS a lot of fun.
• You can go to the event, make some kids smile, get a sunburn, make some new amigos (and amigas), and feel like a million Soles.

Times have been tough for many of us this year; nobody knows that more than I do. I also know that there are many ways for people to help those in need. Our method is no better or worse than any other -- it's just ours. If you haven't yet decided where give back this year or can spare some cash, please consider this fund. The people working on it are very dedicated, and there's 100% accountability in all aspects of the money. All deposits are publicly announced and copies of the deposit slips are are posted. There is always an accounting thread in the Spanish forum. I will post a link to it when I figure out where it is.

You can get your donation into the pipeline in a few different ways:

1. If you're going to be in Lima, write to me and I will give you the banking information. You don't need to speak Spanish to put money in the bank.
2. Paypal your donation to me at [email protected] -- I will pay any transaction fees, so 100% of your donation gets in the pipeline and to the kids.
3. Send me a check and I will get the money where it needs to go. Write me for my snail mail address.
4. Meet me in Lima and hand me the money! I will be there starting December 13. First drink is on me.
5. Come to our annual Orgy Fundraiser. It is on November 29. Naked women having sex all around you (and with you), and you get to help the less fortunate.

The Kids' Christmas Committee has decided on the location and the date for this year's Christmas event.

The fiesta/gift giving will be in Villa Maria de Triunfo... wherever that is. The date of the event will be Sunday, December 21st.

How can you help?

The first, and best way, would be to come with us on the 21st. You'll get to carry boxes, stand around in the heat, pick up garbage, and make kids smile.

Your next best option would be to attend one of the fund-raising events. There's one on December 18 (I will explain more when I know more), or come to our Fundraiser Orgy on November 30. There will be other events, as well. When I know; you'll know.

Third best would be to donate stuff. The committee needs gifts, paneton, wrapping paper, chocolate milk, and other stuff. If your Spanish is any good, you can read about it by clicking here.

Your last option is to fork over some cash. You have lots of ways to go on that one, ranging from paypal-ing the money to me (I will pay all paypal fees), to meeting a committee member in Lima, or just depositing the money in the bank account on your own. Write to me for details.

I've been involved in this for years. It's really a great feeling hanging with these kids. If you can help, everyone would appreciate it.

Hi all. I spoke to Sly One this morning, and he said that everyone had a honking good time at the charity orgy. There were four more girls than guys; I wish I was there.

He went to the bank this morning and deposited 600 Soles.

This year's Kid's Christmas Party was a big hit. We loaded up the bus and headed to Villa Maria de Triunfo.

Once there, we climbed the steps up a mountain, and then when they ran out of steps, we kept climbing.

We wound up serving around 150 kids. They were amazingly well-behaved, and everyone had a great time. The Peruanos Solidarios guys do a great job every year, and it is a real treat for me to be able to participate, I want to thank everyone who dug deep to contribute, especially the foristas here in the English Forum. It is a real rush to see the smiles on these kids' faces, and makes me grateful for everything I have.
